HAMILTON, CANADA(April 17, 2015): September Seventh Entertainment Limited announced today the nominees for the 2015 Hamilton Music Industry Awards which take place at 5PM on Saturday May 23rd at the Dofasco Centre for the Arts.  The Industry Awards include 45 categories bringing the total number of categories for both the Hamilton Music Awards and Industry Awards to 67 for a total of 307 nominations thus far(People’s Choice Nominees to be determined on April 24th) - the most in the HMA’s history. Today’s announcement increases the number of nominations for some HMA nominees which were previously announced and increases the number of multiple nominees. Leading the list of multiple nominees are Laura Cole(8), Jeremy Fisher(7) Arkells(7), Dinner Belles(6), Elliott Brood(6), Daniel Lanois(5), Bud Roach(5), Blackie and the Rodeo Kings(5), Katie Bulley(4), Diana Panton(4), Jacob Moon(4), Mississippi Bends(4), Strat Andriotis(4), Sumo Cyco(4), Harrison Kennedy(3), Ash & Bloom(3), Steve Strongman(3), Justin Dunlop(3), Tongue Fu(3), VARGA(3), Danielle Lennon(3), Rae Billing(3), Ginger St. James(3), Hachey the MouthPEACE(3) and Mimi Shaw(3). Leading the multiple nominees in the Industry Awards are 93.3 cfmu(10) and Corus Radio(4). A complete list of nominees is included below.   

Nominees in seven People’s Choice categories are being determined by an online voting process. Fans, artists and industry are reminded to cast their votes at www.hamiltonmusicawards.com. The deadline is midnight on Friday April 24th

The line up for the Rising Star Search, Festival & Conference as well as ticket information will be announced in the coming days.

2015 marks a 20-year journey for the Hamilton Music Awards, Festival and Conference which began as Hamilton Music Scene, an unofficial pre-JUNO Festival, when the JUNO’S hit the road and landed in Hamilton, in March 1995.

The Hamilton Music Awards and Industry Awards were established in 2004 to promote and recognize Hamilton’s vibrant music community.  The Music Awards are broadcast nationally each year and have featured appearances by Monster Truck, Daniel Lanois, Arkells, The Reason, Ian Thomas, Lighthouse, Eugene Levy, Crowbar, Jackie Washington, Garth Hudson, Teenage Head, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Whitehorse and many more.  To date, over 600 awards have been given to local artists and industry. The conference is attended by over 700 students and artists annually and features guest speakers from all walks of the Canadian music industry. The festival takes place over two nights in venues throughout Hamilton’s downtown core.
